E-safety

Technology is a growing part of all our lives and at Wells we recognise the importance of equipping our pupils with the necessary skills to ensure that they stay safe in the digital world.  The children are given the opportunity to learn all the skills required to help them make good choices when they are using technology.  Each term the skills are added to in lesson with the ICT instructor and with their class teacher.  If issues arise that interest the children, perhaps E-safety has been in the news, time is always given to allow the children to explore and extend their knowledge of how to behave and interact responsibly with others when online.

All our staff are committed to ensuring that pupils leave our school with the necessary skills to continue into the digital age with confidence.

Start the conversation

The internet can be a difficult place for your child to navigate. It can be hard to know the real from the fake, how to avoid seeing negative content, or what to do if a mistake is made.

Start a conversation with your family about online wellbeing. So you can all feel informed, confident and happy during your time online.

A good way to start this conversation is to take the NSPCC's Positively online quiz which is part of their new initiative to support parents with online safety.
