Compassion

During the month of January we are exploring the meaning of compassion.

We will be looking at the reason this value is so important and how it can help change our world.

"Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive." -Dalai Lama

"If you judge people, you have no time to love them." -Mother Teresa

What is Compassion?
Compassion is when we notice someone is feeling sad, hurt, or in need, and we care enough to help them. It’s like giving someone a hug when they’re sad or sharing your toys when they feel left out.

Why is Compassion Important?

  • It Makes Others Happy: When we show kindness and care, we help people feel better. Imagine how you feel when someone helps you!
  • It Builds Friendships: Compassion helps us make and keep friends because people like being around someone who cares about them.
  • It Makes the World Better: Even small acts of compassion can create a big change. Helping someone can inspire them to help others, creating a ripple effect of kindness.
