PE
The children thoroughly enjoy a wide range of sports at Wells. We are fortunate to have a specialist gymnastics coach and a sports teacher who works with pupils to improve their skills. In addition, class teachers teach a range of outdoor games activities such as cricket, hockey and tag rugby. As well as this, the children in Year 3 and 4 are taking part in squash lessons from a highly trained specialist coach.
Pupils in Years 4, 5 and 6 compete in the Redbridge Primary Cross Country events, which take place throughout the year and the school football team take part in the Redbridge Primary School Football League and the King’s Cup. Our cricket team has been very successful in reaching the finals of the Capital Kids Indoor Cricket competition and, as part of this experience, played in the final at Lords Cricket Ground. This year, the year 5 and 6 children will have swimming lessons at Bancroft’s School.
As well as P.E. within the school, we also offer out-of-hours sporting clubs such as Football, which is available to children from Years 1 to 6, and Netball for children in Year 4 and 5.
In the summer term, Year 6 pupils have the opportunity to participate in a residential visit to an activity centre where they can explore a range of outdoor adventurous activities including abseiling, rock climbing and raft building.
